We highly recommend that you maintain an active PTSA membership.
PTSA member registration opens at 10 am on September 30, 2024. General registration will open on October 4, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., if the class has not sold out. Registration will close the earlier on reaching the max capacity of the class or October 7, 2024 at 11:59pm.
Please purchase a membership prior to starting the registration process. Create/Renew PTSA Membership. (Please note that new memberships may take up to 24 hours to be reflected on the website. )
Please check and update your child's grade and teacher's name prior to registration through My Account.
Tuition fee of $420.00 (with an additional 3% transaction fee that will be added during the checkout) will be collected during registration. You will be redirected to PayPal at the end to submit payment information.
There is a small chance that this needs to be adjusted if the enrollment number is lower than expected.
No refunds after registration.
All tuition received will be allocated to pay Independent Contractor fees, administrative processing fees, costs and fees, fees and costs passed on by Bellevue School District, scholarships, and any other expenses or costs related to after school programs. Any tuition that was not used by the end of the program will be accounted for as a donation under the Somerset PTSA general fundraiser.

Parents must be a PTSA member and must be available to attend at least one sessions during the year for each enrolled student to assist the coaches. This participation is required. Parents will help to run the class and make sure rooms are clean at the end of class.
Volunteer Sign Lists:
The SignUp Genius above is set0up with all the sessions. It is a first-come, first-serve basis so please sign up for the dates that work best for your schedule. After the first week of classes, in order for us to have at least two volunteers per session, we will assign dates to parents who have not signed up.
Parents must complete the Bellevue School District Volunteer background check and check-in at the Somerset Office on their volunteer day.
As the Chair, a special arrangement will be made to reserve a spot in the club for your student. We appreciate your commitment and look forward to your active involvement in shaping a positive experience for both your child and the entire club.

As a chair, your responsibilities will include:
Managing Parent Volunteers: This involves creating a sign-up sheet for parent volunteers to assist with the class.
Communication with Parents: Sending out emails to parents regarding class information to keep them informed.
Addressing Parent Inquiries: Responding to any questions or concerns that parents may have by email.
Ms. Yang, the current Computer Science teacher in Newport High School and Lakeside Upper School (summer), has been focusing on the education of K-12 for over a decade. She graduated from University of Washington with a Master Degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering. She used to be a Software Engineer in Cisco, and Product Manager in Microsoft. Before moving to the US in 2014, she had been teaching and developing curriculum in TAL(Tomorrow Advancing Life), a leading education group in Beijing for four years.
Somerset PTSA Coding Club will have support and assistant from Newport High School Programming Club .High School Volunteers will join and provide support to the class and club.
