Seeking Room Parents for 2023-2024!

The PTSA is looking for Room Parents for each classroom for the 2022-2023 school year! At least one parent is needed for each class but we can have up to three Room Parents per class.

What is a Room Parent?

Room Parents are volunteers who help out in their student’s class, helping with class events and facilitating communication between the PTSA, teacher, and other parents in the class.

What are the responsibilities of a Room Parent?

  • Act as a liaison between the teacher and class parents
  • Collect and manage funds for class (class funds cover teacher and staff gifts, class parties throughout the year, staff appreciation, and more!)
  • Communicate important information from the PTSA and school, including reminders and sign-up forms about events, activities, field trips, etc.
  • Organize class parties (we generally organize 4 parties a year)

Amazing! How do I sign up?

You can sign up to be a Room Parent here. Don’t forget to include your student’s name when signing up, as we'll need to verify that information.

This is important: Any parent who volunteers at Somerset is required to:

  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID
  • Have a completed background check: The background check is valid for three years, so if you have already completed one within the last three years, you’re good to go! Otherwise, please be sure to visit the Bellevue School District’s volunteer page to complete your background check.
  • Be an active PTSA member. Please sign up to join the PTSA here
